Theos is Expanding My Horizons

Today I'll introduce you to Eva Gregory.  Spiritual teacher and living channel to Theos, a group of high vibration energetic beings, Eva has made it her mission to teach us how to connect with our own higher selves to live a prosperous, abundant, creative life.

I joined her Purposeful Prosperity Group to see what she and Theos had to teach, and today we had our first webinar.  It was hopeful, upbeat, interesting, and relaxing.  It was a nice way to spend an hour.

Eva's goal for our group is to help us access our own internal knowledge, bring our frequencies up to connect with our higher selves, and teach us how to listen to our own voices to thrive in every area of our lives.  Theos connects with us to aid our journey into the higher energy frequencies. We had two discourses from Theos during this webinar, and the second one helped raised my frequency so much it took me a while to come back to earth.  I didn't even feel the transition.

Think of closing your eyes for a few minutes.  You're listening to someone tell you how easy and great things are going to be.  You're relaxed and not thinking about anything, just listening.  Then it's over and when you open your eyes you find yourself 20 feet off the ground and wonder how you got there - this is what it felt like.  Even though I was still sitting on the couch I felt like I was floating away.  Very cool.

I've got 3 more webinars to decide if I want to join up for more at full price.  I just might.

My hope is to be able to tap into my purpose, join up with my higher self, and take charge of my entrepreneurial growth.  I want to learn to see my path, not just feel it.  I think Eva Gregory might be the one to help me get there.

Eva has a rich life history.  She's a licensed business coach, author of several books and training programs, co-host of several radio programs, and more.  To learn more about her, check out her website: www.YourGuidanceonDemand.com

To hear some communications from Theos:  Ask Theos

If you want to learn more about Eva's Purposeful Prosperity program, check out her blog: Everyone Wants to See You Succeed.

Eva also has an online community where you can subscribe to listen to live calls with Eva and Theos.   Visit www.TheCosmicLivingroom.com to see more.

What ever happens, Eva's smooth voice and good advice will help my vibrational journey.  We'll see what I decide when my free month is up.  I'm looking forward to my growth.

Goodbye Sandy!

Sandy came by last week.  She huffed and puffed but couldn't knock down any trees, so she moved on.  Thank goodness for us.

Unfortunately, though, the farther north she went, the more aggressive she got, and finally she was able to live up to her name and bury some towns in sand and water.  New York, New Jersey, Connecticut; Sandy's visit to them has left a long lasting impression on the people who live there, and not a good one.

We in the Washington D.C. area have had our weather problems.  We cringe whenever it rains - we wait for our basements to flood and our electricity to stop flowing, and when the weather is dry we worry about our lawns dying off and fight off the ants.  My house sits on top of clay and underground streams.  It's condition relies on the weather.  Usually when we have a lot of rain my basement floods and my windows leak.  I have to worry about mildew and mold.  This summer brought a drought and my house was suffering in a different way.  The basement floor sank a little, the walls shifted, and the doors had trouble staying closed.

Strangely enough, Sandy fixed my house.  The clay expanded with the extra moisture from all of that rain, the walls moved back, and now my doors close easily.  Even though I had sump pump trouble my basement stayed dry, and even though my neighbors prepared for evacuation the Potomac stayed put and left them alone.  We sighed with relief and surprise when Sandy moved her destructive power to other unsuspecting states.  They thought they were prepared for the worst - they were wrong.  We were prepared for the worst, and didn't need to be.

I'm sorry for all of those people who lost their homes and lives and jobs to this hurricane.  I feel their anxiety, worry, and pain.  It could've easily happened to us, and we are aware of how lucky we are.  I am aware of how lucky I am.  My house is dry, my fridge is still working, and I have gas in my car.

Thank you, Sandy, for leaving us unscathed.  Shame on you for what you did to everybody else.  You did what you came for; showed the Eastern Shore and New York City that Mother Nature is still in charge and created a place in history as the largest hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic basin.  At least you weren't the deadliest.  Thank you for that, too.

There's a lot of talk about how much it's going to cost to fix everything.  It'll be interesting to compare New Jersey's healing time to New Orleans, which is still recovering from Katrina.  Our wallets were already stretched to their limits - I had to choose between trimming some tree branches away from my roof before the storm and groceries.  I chose the tree trimming and am cleaning out my freezer.  It'll be interesting to see who gets to rebuild their home, who has to move on, and who never recovers.  It'll be interesting to see what the next storm does to us.

I used to feel alone with my water worries.  I don't anymore.  Every year someone new feels my anxiety, and even though I'm sorry for them, I'm grateful for the company.

I guess that gives me something else to thank Sandy for.

Goodbye, you stupid hurricane.

Trying Something New (Healing Codes)

Have you ever heard of the Healing Code?

It's something relatively new in the energy healing world, and it seems to gaining popularity because people everywhere are raving about it.  So I tried it.

Dr. Alex Lloyd says that the cause of most of our physical and emotional health problems is internal stress.  We worry about everything; the older we get, the more we give ourselves to be responsible for, the more we worry.  Our response to everything around us causes stress that can affect our health.  Stress suppresses our immune system, sucks away our problem solving creativity, causes us to see things negatively, and  changes our blood flow activity.  Everything from thinking about our eating habits to our jobs to our children, or just worrying about our next bill, snowballs into a major stress response in the body.  All these things that aren't life threatening but sends us into a fight or flight mode creates a malfunction in the body that can cause anxiety, depression, heart disease, immune deficiency issues, and more.

Dr. Lloyd discovered the Healing Code while searching for a cure for his wife's depression.  He describes the Healing Code as a hidden fuse box in the body that can be activated by your own hands that can relieve this stress and heal the body.  Because he's a scientist at heart he decided to investigate and prove the reality of this fuse box by teaming up with another doctor, Dr. Ben Johnson.  Together they created and honed a system to go with this activation, wrote books and built a DVD program  to teach people how they can heal themselves.  Check out this video to get a more intensive explanation.  It's a radio show, but very informative.

They don't advocate dumping traditional health care, but believe strongly that this system can be a great addition to our daily personal health care, like taking a multivitamin or watching our diets.

They've gotten rave reviews from thousands of people, including Dr. Lloyd's wife, who have tried The Healing Codes and healed themselves.  So I decided to see what the positive hub-bub was all about.

I've known about hands-on energy healing for years, so when I read the book it seemed like a no-brainer for me.  After a short prayer to draw energy into your chakra system, you funnel energy through your hands, point your fingers at different points around your head, and activate those points into action.  After a little examination into what your main problem really is, you can focus the intention of the healing with a few short words during the healing activation.  Easy peazy.

The problem I have is that I can't get myself to do it as often as I should - kinda like my exercise regimen.  The doctors advise doing the 6 minute activation 3 times a day.  Like all of my other  programs, I manage twice a day, sometimes forgetting all together, or losing my healing steam when my work schedule gets crazy.  But I keep on trying.

Here's a little lesson on your chakra system:  You have seven major energy points in your body, stretching from the top of your head to your tail.   These major energy points, which you can focus on and keep healthy with meditation and proper health care, draw in and expel energy throughout your physical and ethereal body.  Keep your chakras healthy and you keep your body and mind healthy, inside and out.  Like an invisible nervous system, the major chakras feed energy to smaller energy points, like the bottom of your feet, joints, hands and fingers.

Dr. Lloyd found the energy points in the head that affects the endocrine system, which regulates your body health.  Without even mentioning chakras, Dr. Lloyd found a way to draw energy into your hands, point your fingers to 4 different points around the head, start an energy flow from your hands to your chakras and jump-start your healing ability, like spark plugs powering an engine.

It's actually been interesting.  Every time I point my fingers at myself, I can feel some kind of physical sensation.  You hold your hands away from your head - it works better if you don't touch yourself - and the flow of energy from your fingers makes contact with your skin.  I've felt warmth, a feeling of pulsation between my hands, a pulling as if I were stretching the skin with my fingers, and an electrical tingling sensation.  Each session has brought a slightly different experience.

I've been doing it a while now, and even though my arthritis isn't cured and I'm still having hot flashes, I'm still trying. The healing is supposed to be happening, even if I don't feel it.  My problem is that even though I'm feeling energy moving, like with Mr. Trivedi's energy transmissions, I'm not sure if anything is actually happening.

Since the theory is that doing the codes heals more than what you're focused on, I'll keep on using them.   I'm sure I've got a lot of stress that needs to be relieved.  And if a code a day keeps the doctor away, I'm all for it.

I've signed on to hear about Dr. Lloyd's new healing therapy, which is supposed to  be better, so I'll let you know how it goes.

She Isn't Here

-->
I wake up in the morning and wonder why I’m still in bed.  I used to take my time, listen to a meditation audio and plan my day.  I used to like my mornings, but now I feel like I should get up the second my eyes open, and I realize that I have trouble wanting to go to bed at night no matter how tired I am.

I get up and look at the floor.  When I go into the bathroom I glance at the threshold.  When I pass the guestroom I check out the bed.

When I start to arrange my day in my head my timetables are at odds.  I don’t need to limit my time out.  I have more time to get ready for work and I don’t have to worry about coming home at a particular hour.  I can leave the house and take my time coming back, so why worry about a schedule?

She isn’t here anymore.  I don’t have to consider her in my plans anymore.

I go downstairs and look at my easy chair.  I can take the cover off of it.  That fence around the birdcage to keep the bird out f reach can go downstairs.  The bowl I’ve been stepping over and sometimes into can get put away.  It feels odd to reach for my snacks or the bird or the kitchen sink without having to stretch over something on the floor.  It feels strange to move around the house without having to be constantly aware of the area around my feet.  I can go down the stairs without a second thought.  I’ve got nothing to trip over other than the junk I left on the stairs.

Because she isn’t here anymore.

I don’t have to rush home straight from work.  I don’t have to make special trips to the pet store.  When the bird throws food on the floor I don’t have to worry about it, though I do spend a lot more time cleaning up after her these days.  There’s nothing between me and the stove, between my butt and the couch, between me and the door when someone knocks.  My kitchen counter is less cluttered with treats and toys.

My dishwasher still needs cleaning out, though.  One day I’ll have the heart to open it and take out the boxes and bags of treats that I store there.  I wonder briefly on a daily basis if my neighbor across the street could use them.  And the basket of toys in the family room – should I take them to the shelter?

Back to my morning doldrums: I finally realize that I didn’t get my good morning hug.  Last night I didn’t get my comfy lap cuddle.  I don’t go out for a before-bed walk anymore and when I go to bed at night I feel like I’m forgetting to do something.  There’s an important chore I’m not accomplishing.  I’m going to have to find another way to begin and end my days.

I don’t have to fight off a tongue bath or let anyone out to pee.  The only creature waiting for me is the bird in her cage.  Even though she is glad to see me, she’s useless as a cuddle bug; she has a tendency to bite me when I get too friendly.

My mood is low.  I have no feelings of accomplishments, no appreciation, no adoring stares; no one is waiting for me to get off my butt and do something worth watching.

No one is looking through my grocery bags or sneezing at me for attention.

My plants in the backyard are thirsty.  My tomatoes are ripening without me.  I don’t go outdoors to do poop patrol any more.

It’s just the bird and me now.  She’s irritating me because she always has to be with me these days, hanging over my shoulder, following me around the house and nagging at me.   Apparently she has a lot of things she doesn’t have to do either, so I’m her only source of entertainment.

Jolene is gone.  Her illness was unexpected.  The silence around the house was unexpected.  I never suspected that I’d be de-dog-proofing the house this week.  I wasn’t ready for her absence, and it’s still hitting me.

She isn’t here anymore.

Damn it.

Over Kill?

When Does It Become Too Much?

It's been almost a year, so I decided to take stock of what I'm doing to improve my life.

First thing in the morning I listen to a selection of Morry Zelcovich's brainwave entrainment.  Then I do a 6 to 10 minute session of the Healing Codes - I'll tell you about this in a little while.

After I get downstairs I drink a cup of my Gano coffee.  After breakfast I sit down with my computer to watch a lesson on social media management, but I end up spending so much time with my email and Facebook accounts, I rarely get to that.  I get emails from Richard Luck (New You Life Coach), Sonia Ricotti (Lead Out Loud),Wendy Lipton-Dibner (Elite Video Mastery), Lori Spagna (Efil's God), Jim White (What's my Purpose), and so many more.  Granted, I signed up for their newsletters and some of them are very informative, but I can watch videos and read newsletters until dinner time.

Sometimes I break for lunch.

I listen to music samples from Mindpower MP3 and Paraliminal Learning Strategies, subscribe to free video lessons like the Elite Video Mastery because I'm interested in doing quality videos, Pinterest and Google+ info videos because I'd like to understand how to use the social media giants better, and Natalie Lewell's Youtube show, "The Inspiration Show" with interviews with self-help heroes like Bob Proctor and Joe Vitale.  Some of these videos are 45 to 90 minutes long!  I sign up and listen to webinar shows from Darius Barazandeh, Awakening to Abundance, and Manifest Everything Now, because I like to learn about new self-help programs.  They call these telesummits and feature speakers from all over the world.  These are also over an hour long.  I'm a glutton.

And I'm taking notes.  This makes the video tutorials last forever because I have to stop them after every other minute so that I can type the highlights onto my word documents.  My typing is getting pretty good.

Sometimes I get up off the couch to let the dog out to pee.

The Healing Codes
I buy e-books.  I've read some of them: "Frequency", "You Can Heal Your Life", "Follow your Passion, Find Your Power".  I just finished "The Healing Code", a book about using your own healing power to heal your physical and emotional problems.  This is why I've added my Healing Code sessions to my repertoire.  I'm trying to heal my arthritis.  I'll tell you how it goes in a future blog.

My next book is called, "The Translucent Revolution."  The subtitle is, "How People Like You Are Waking Up and Changing the World."  I might be if I could get away from my computer.

In between all of this education I write newsletters and blog posts.  I look through my Facebook, Google+, Twitter and Pinterest accounts to read and share posts and pictures.  I try to read other people's blogs and articles to see what people are thinking about these days.  I've actually found some pretty interesting people, and I'm learning a lot about how to take care of my bird and dog.

I'm supposed to watch my subliminal success accelerator videos from www.subliminal-videos.com three times a day.  I remember to about once a week.  I'm supposed to do my healing codes three times a day.  I manage twice; before I get out of bed in the morning, and after I go to bed at night.   I'm supposed to listen to my brainwave entrainment audios three times a day and a paraliminal meditation at least once a day.  The best I've managed is one brainwave entrainment audio in the morning before I do a Healing Code.  And I've pretty much forgotten about Burt Goldman and his Quantum Leaping.  Sorry, Burt.

I think I'm trying too hard, but I can't stop.  Maybe I'm trying to make up for 50 years of only thinking about improving myself.  Maybe I'm a New Age shopaholic.  I think it's more of being a kid in a candy store.  I can't help myself.  It's all just too good. I'm even drinking water from a water bottle designed to energize my water.

www.VibesUp.com
I'm going to have to slow down if I want to continue; maybe finish something before I start something else.  I should really spend a few months doing one thing at a time to see what works best.  A friend of mine once asked me to give her an update about how well a product works after I've tried it for a couple of weeks, and I had to tell her that there was no way I could.  At this point, even if my life were to miraculously become magical, I'd have no way to tell what it was that worked.  Everything has become a part of a bigger story.  There are too many things going on at the same time.

That may not be a bad thing.  I'm sure keeping busy.

But not too busy to let the dog out to pee every once in a while.

Frequencies of a Cicada

Music To My Ears

I was going to do an article on the sounds of cicadas, but changed my mind.

Every morning, when I take Jolene out to brush her, I have an opportunity to sit on my porch and listen to the morning nature calls.  Usually bird-song is the most prevalent morning sound that comes into my awareness because of the nice number of birds in my neighborhood, and sometimes my neighbors are taking control of the airwaves with their leaf blowers and lawn mowers because, well, my neighbors are trying to irritate me.

It's August now, and the cicadas are buzzing in volumes that overtakes anything else that might try announce themselves before noon.  And I find it relaxing.

I figured there was a reason that cicadas exist, come out every summer, and relax the human population within earshot, so I investigated the frequency at which they vibrate - 123 hertz.

Apparently cicada song is most important to other cicadas; the males are calling to the females.

But I did find out that 123Hz affects us too.  I found a chart that says it affects Pyoderma and Influenza.  This information wasn't helpful to me.  I looked up Pyoderma: skin disease.  Maybe singing cicadas cure acne.

When you play B2 with a bassoon the frequency is 123Hz.

When your subwoofer vibrates with 123 Hz it irritates you.

Certain tree frogs sing higher at around 123 Hz to compensate for traffic noise.  After all, they want those female frogs to hear them.

I also found out that if you held a singing cicada next to your ear, you could damage your hearing.  So, don't do that.

So far none of this was what I was looking for, so I changed my search to information about the cicada  and it's symbolism.  This was a bit more interesting.

Because of it's ability to reemerge from the ground and shed it's shell to fly, it's a symbol for resurrection and reincarnation in Japan and China.   The Greek lover of the goddess of Dawn, Tithonus, was granted immortality but not eternal youth, so he got older and weaker with time until all that was left of him was his voice.  He is now a cicada.  In the case of the 7 year cicada, it's numerology symbolism signifies a great imagination and ability to manifest with conscious thought.

Cicadas come out during the hottest days of the summer.  Since this corresponds with the sun being at the center of our lives, they are part of the sun-sign and bring to light our ability to connect and harmonize with our family and neighbors.  Since some of them take their time coming up from the earth,  (some lay dormant for 17 years!) they can bring to mind timing, patience, longevity, and the rhythm of nature.

There are about 2500 species of cicadas around the world.  Cicadas have five eyes and can see very well, but their cellular memories are so old, whatever they see looks like a tree to them.  So don't take it personally when they try to land on you.  Like aphids, they live on tree sap and water, so they do no harm to us or our gardens unless the females lay too many eggs and damage young plants.  It seems their main role on this planet is to breed, multiply, and be food to any who dares to eat them.  While underground they aerate the soil and promote tree growth.  They offer themselves to us as a gift and we reward them by running away screaming - we seem to judge ugly, noisy things as harmful.  Shame on us.

There is a genus of cicadas that include 7 species called Magicicada, a name I love.  They include the 13 year and 17 year brood.  They come out in such great numbers, in the millions sometimes,  to survive the feeding frenzy that ensues.  Their predator's tummies fill up way before their numbers dwindle, giving them a chance to mate and go back to ground and wait for the next cycle of rebirth.

For years researchers have sought to explain how the Magicicada life cycles developed and what the significance of the prime numbers (13 year and 17 year) might mean.

The long underground life span seems to have started 20,000 years ago, during the last glacial period.  The Magicicada may have developed an ability to wait until the warm weather signaled safety for an emergence, leading to a change in their genetic makeup.  A theory about the prime numbers has something to do with Nature's way to keep cross breeding with other cicadas to a minimum.  There is a great article here, on ScientificAmerican.com that could tell you more.

I tried and tried and found no esoteric information on how cicadas affect us and why they keep coming back every year.  All I could do is theorize that there's a message that we're not getting, so they'll keep singing to us until we get it.  They've been trying for thousands of years and are very patient with us, and I hope they never give up.

So forget about the article.  I think I'll just go outside and listen to my magic cicadas.  Someday I'll figure it out.

Really?

Oy, Oy, Oy, Oy, Oy!

My morning started normally enough.

After I fed the dog, fed the outdoor birds and fed the indoor bird, I loaded the indoor bird onto her perch and took my breakfast to the couch where I happily ate my scrambled eggs and drank my coffee as I watched my morning talk shows.

I pulled out my laptop and started checking my mail.  Jolene camped out next to me on the couch to wait for lunch time.  So far it was a nice relaxed morning.

2 hours later I had to pee.  This meant I had to get up off the couch and go upstairs.  It was the perfect opportunity to turn everything off and get ready to go grocery shopping.

I closed my laptop, gathered my dishes and got up.  Jolene knew it was time to go and jumped off the couch to wait for me.  First I had to get the bird so she could go back into her cage, which can be a challenge, but we had a routine that made it easy.

I grabbed a sunflower seed and asked her to come to momma.  Thankfully, she came without me having to coerce her with more seeds.  Sometimes she decides she needs a little more time and I have to be patient with her.  There's no hurrying a bird, especially a temperamental bird like mine.  Once she was on my arm I grabbed my dishes and turned off the lights and three of us went upstairs to the kitchen.

Boy, I really had to pee - but first I had to put the dishes in the sink.  Then I took the bird to the front door - this was part of our routine.  As she waited patiently on my shoulder I attached the suction cup perch on the glass of the door and tried to lure her onto it with a couple of sunflower seeds, but she wanted to show her appreciation first and cuddle with my cheek.  I tried not to dance the "full bladder" dance, pretended to appreciate her appreciation because I wanted to encourage her attempts at being nice to me, and after a couple of trying minutes (trying my patience, trying my bladder) I was able to get her off my shoulder and safely on the perch.  Then I opened the door a couple of inches to get the mail out of the mailbox that was right outside on the wall. Once I retrieved the mail I closed and locked the door against any accidental openings and letting the bird out of the house.  Even with clipped wings my bird can fly.

We did this so that I could have some time to take her dish of prepared fruit and veggies out of the fridge and put it in her cage.  If I did it before she went back to her cage she wouldn't get territorial and try to bite me.  So after I sorted the mail I went into the kitchen to get her dish.

Now, I was fighting the clock.  If I went to the bathroom first it would take too long; the bird would get antsy and fly to the top of her cage before I was ready, and it would be tricky getting her in it.  I could wait until she went in to eat, then close the door, but in my mind that was another battle I didn't have time to deal with and couldn't wait for her.  So I concentrated on holding my water and went straight to the fridge and got the dish out.

While I was there, I took out the food for the dog.  The plan was I'd put the bird food in the cage, get the bird safely inside, go to the bathroom and then feed the dog.

Well.

I put the bird's dish in her cage and went to the front door.  Good, she was being patient with me today.  I lured her back to my arm with another sunflower seed, then noticed there was an almond shell on the floor.  As I decided it was there because Jolene left it there, I bent down to pick it up.  I couldn't risk Jolene trying to swallow it.  I reached for it just as Jolene showed up - we raced to see who'd get it first.  I did.

Suddenly my hand was covered with ants.  Crap!

I instinctively dropped the almond.  Jolene instinctively grabbed it.  The bird instinctively hung on for dear life as I grappled with the dog to get the stupid almond shell out of her mouth.

OMG, my bladder will explode any second now.

I'm yelling at the dog and secretly hoping the bird will stay calm and not bite my ear. She did this last week and my ear is still healing.  Luckily Jolene was tickled by the ants and dropped the stupid almond.  I grabbed it, raced to the back door for some weird reason, and threw it out the door.  While the door was open I shook off some of the ants.  Miraculously the bird stayed on my shoulder.

I tried to stay calm for my bladder's sake.  I grabbed yet another sunflower seed and lured the bird onto her perch on the inside of the cage door, then slowly shut the door on her.  There were still a few ants crawling up my arm.  I squashed them as fast as I could.  Whew!  The bird was tucked away, the ants on my arm were dead.

But before I could head upstairs to the bathroom I had to contend with the rest of the ants,  so I went back to the kitchen, grabbed a can of bug spray, ran to the front door, picked up the rug in front of the door and threw it outside, ants and all; I could see little ant bodies flying everywhere.  Then I sprayed the heck out of the floor and the door jam.

Once I could tell that the ants were all dead, I considered going outside to see how they got in in the first place.

But I REALLY HAD TO PEE!

So I decided it could wait and finally headed for the bathroom.

But now I found that every move I made increased the risk of my peeing my pants.  So I slowly headed for the stairs.  Very slowly.  I took a step, paused to relax my bladder, took a step, paused to relax my bladder, took a step and hoped no one was standing outside my front door watching me, then paused again to calm my bladder.

Miraculously I made it upstairs to the bathroom with dry pants, but:  now I have a knot in the sash that's holding my shorts up.

I struggled and struggled, and long story shortened:  I did not wet myself.

I'm too old for this stuff.

(P.S.  I never did find the ant trail into my house, Jolene got fed, and I did get to the grocery store, where I forgot to buy half of the groceries I went to the store for in the first place but I did bring home stuff I found that looked good.)
